Tarte Tatin

The signature product of Morioka's representative patisserie, "Tarte Tatin," is named after the dessert itself. It is said that the dessert originated from an apple dish made by the Tatin sisters at their inn in France. The story goes that one day, they accidentally baked it upside down, resulting in an unexpectedly delicious outcome. Since Iwate is a major apple-producing region, this name was chosen for the shop as well. Experience the authentic taste of French pastry, featuring apples slowly caramelized to perfection. This pride of our shop is carefully recreated from raw ingredients right here in Morioka. Please enjoy the authentic flavor created by the interplay of sweet and tart apples and the bittersweet notes of caramel.
