Chikurin (Marumoto Shuzo)

From the paddy field to the sake, all by their own hands. This is 'Chikurin' from Marumoto Shuzo, a brewery striving to be an 'agricultural brewery.' Marumoto Shuzo was founded in 1867 in Kamogata-cho, Asakuchi City, the home of Bitchu brewers. Since 1987, the brewery master has engaged in self-cultivation, working on a circular, organic rice-growing method that returns rice bran and sake lees to the fields. The local Kamogata-cho was also designated as Japan's first 'Sake Rice Agricultural Special Zone.' Their flagship brand, 'Chikurin,' is characterized by its clear and elegant flavor, brewed using self-cultivated sake rice and spring water from Mount Chikurinji. Straightforward sake production where farming and brewing are one. A crisp bottle that allows you to feel the power of the earth.
