Ryokan (Kikuchi Shuzo)

An elegant cup brewed in a brewery where Mozart flows through the halls. This is 'Ryokan' by Kikuchi Shuzo. Founded in 1878 in Tamashima, Kurashiki, Kikuchi Shuzo is a brewery known for its flagship brand 'Sanzen.' The Ryokan brand is named after the famous monk of the Edo period, Ryokan. The brewery is also known for its love of music, as the head brewer is also a violinist and plays Mozart in the brewery during the brewing season. Using sake rice such as Yamada Nishiki, Omachi, and Asahi, combined with the waters of the Takahashi River, it is brewed to achieve a gentle and refined taste. It has a mellow mouthfeel that pairs well with the seafood of the Seto Inland Sea. A soothing local sake nurtured by the port town of Kurashiki.
