Kamihime (Kamihime Sake Brewery)
The name Kamihime is written with characters meaning 'to rejoice in a beautiful heart.' It is a brewery that produces delicious, sweet-style sake in a port town of the Seto Inland Sea. Kamihime Sake Brewery was founded in 1913 in Yorishima, Asakuchi City. It is said that the second generation founder, wishing to 'brew sake that purifies both body and soul,' chose the name 'Kamihime' specifically avoiding the character for 'god' (kami) out of a sense of profound reverence. By using an abundance of rice and employing meticulous techniques to bring out the rice's natural umami, they have continued to create delicious, sweet-style sake that is never tiring to drink. Their winter-exclusive brand, 'Fuyu no Tsuki,' is also highly popular. Nurtured by the mild climate of the Seto Inland Sea, the flavor is mellow and gentle. Its rich sweetness subtly enhances the umami of food. It is a cup from Yorishima that makes your heart feel at ease with every sip.
