Kamo Goyo (Tago Honke Sake Brewery)

A premium sake brewed in the castle town of Tsuyama by a brewery said to have the oldest history in Okayama Prefecture. This is 'Kamo Goyo' from Tago Honke Sake Brewery. Founded during the Kanbun era of the Edo period (1661–1673), they have continued to brew sake using locally sourced ingredients for approximately 350 years. The name of their flagship brand, 'Kamo Goyo,' was given in honor of the lush green five-needle pine and the clear Kamo River. Rather than flashiness, they value a flavor that complements everyday dining. It is carefully brewed using high-quality water and rice from Tsuyama. An unpretentious cup that pairs excellently with the meat dishes unique to Tsuyama. This local sake has walked alongside the long history of the castle town.
