Kiyosato Potato Shochu

In fact, Japan's very first potato shochu was born right here in Kiyosato Town. Released in 1979, this is a product of pure determination; town officials were dispatched to the National Tax Agency's Brewing Laboratory, and repeated experimental brewing was conducted in a closed-down junior high school to perfect it. Upon its release, the first product, 'Kiyosato,' sold out repeatedly on its very first day. It was so popular that additional orders could not keep up with demand. Brewed using Kiyosato-grown potatoes and subsoil water from Mount Shari, it features a crisp and clean finish. When enjoyed on the rocks or with soda, the gentle sweetness of the potato subtly spreads across the palate. We invite you to experience this unique shochu born in Hokkaido.
