Tantakatan
We want even those who are not fond of shochu to try this—a unique alcohol born in Shiranuka Town, featuring the refreshing aroma of shiso. Tantakatan was created through a partnership between Shiranuka Town and Godo Heizo, with the aim of making the most of the town's specialty, red shiso. Released in 1992, this shiso shochu uses pure snowmelt from the Daisetsuzan mountain range in Hokkaido to tightly encapsulate the refreshing sensation of shiso. The somewhat unusual name is derived from the place name "Tantaka," the origin of the shiso, and it is said that a word meaning "to talk/speak" in the Ainu language was added to it. Whether enjoyed on the rocks, with soda, or with hot water, its crisp finish makes it a perfect bottle to greatly expand your world of alcohol.
