A rising star of Japanese whisky born in Akkeshi, whose every release is eagerly awaited by fans around the globe. Akkeshi Distillery began experimental maturation in 2013 and commenced distillation in 2016. Its goal was to create a characterful, smoky, and peaty whisky, reminiscent of Scotland's Isle of Islay. Located near the wetlands of Akkeshi Bay, the cool summers and frequent sea mists create an ideal environment for whisky maturation. It has now become so well-known that it is affectionately referred to as 'Japanese Islay.' A powerful yet delicate dram nurtured by the cool northern lands. An existence that demonstrates the new possibilities of Japanese whisky.
