Niseko Shuzo
At the doorstep of Niseko, a world-class ski resort, lies a historic sake brewery: Niseko Shuzo in Kutchan Town. Since its founding in 1917 (Taisho 5), this long-established brewery has been beloved by the local community. Using the snowmelt from Mount Yotei as brewing water, they craft sake that reflects the natural environment of Hokkaido. Their signature winter-exclusive cloudy sake, 'Ezo no Homare,' is a hand-bottled unpasteurized (namazake) sake where live yeast remains active in the bottle. Although it requires refrigeration, its smooth flavor captivates many fans. This local sake is born from the pure waters nurtured by Niseko's great nature. Between skiing or sightseeing, please take a moment to slowly savor a glass that is unique to this land.
