Kirin Beer Chitose Plant
For beer lovers, this is a must-visit spot during a trip to Hokkaido. The Kirin Beer Hokkaido Chitose Plant uses the pure waters of the Naibetsu River, a tributary of the Chitose River, to create its carefully crafted brews. During the approximately 90-minute factory tour, you can touch the raw ingredients to check their aroma and observe the brewing process up close. A particular highlight is the popular tasting comparison between 'Ichiban Shibori' (first press) and 'Niban Shibori' (second press) malt wort, which are not usually available to drink. The exceptional freshness and the fine texture of the foam are truly extraordinary. After the tour, we recommend enjoying freshly made beer alongside Genghis Khan (grilled mutton) or lamb chops. Its convenient access near New Chitose Airport is also a great plus.
