Rokkatei Marusei Butter Sand
When thinking of Hokkaido souvenirs, many people will immediately think of this. Rokkatei's Marusei Butter Sand was created to commemorate the renaming of the company to Rokkatei Seika in 1977. The name 'Marusei' originates from 'Marusei Bata,' a product commercialized in Hokkaido during the Meiji era by Banseisha, led by Benzo Yoda, the pioneer of Tokachi development. This item embodies the desire to create sweets rooted in the local Tokachi region; its flavor, featuring butter cream with white chocolate and raisins sandwiched between biscuits, has remained a classic since its launch. Its retro packaging, which reproduces the butter labels from that era, is also part of its charm. It is a representative confectionery of Hokkaido from Rokkatei, which has its main store in Obihiro.
