Shiroi Koibito

Crispy, light Langue de Chat cookies with white chocolate that melts delicately in your mouth—this is "Shiroi Koibito," the quintessential souvenir of Hokkaido. It was born in 1976. The name came directly from a remark made by the founder of Ishiya Seika, who, while looking up at the swirling snow on his way back from skiing, murmured, "White lovers are falling." By sandwiching in-house prepared white chocolate between two thinly baked cookies, the simple method allows the quality of the ingredients to shine through as the flavor. Starting with 5 million pieces in its first year of release, it now produces approximately 200 million pieces annually. It is a masterpiece that brings back memories of winter in the snowy land of Hokkaido in a single bite.
