Sapporo Night Parfait
Choosing a sweet parfait as the final course after drinking alcohol. Inside the glass, layers of Hokkaido fruits and dairy products shine beautifully. It is a slightly sophisticated way to enjoy the nights in Susukino. The term "Shime Parfait" (finishing parfait) emerged around 2014. In 2015, a promotion committee was formed as specialty shops gathered, and it quickly became a boom. Originally, because Hokkaido has efficient heating, there was a custom of eating ice cream even in winter to cool down heated bodies. It is said that this regional characteristic is part of the background that allowed the night parfait culture to take root. Visiting specialty shops that stay open until late at night—it is a sweet nighttime stroll unique to Sapporo.
