Furano Wine
When poured into a glass, the crisp flavor of grapes grown in the northern lands spreads across your palate. Enjoying it alongside the scenery of Furano, famous for its lavender fields, will make your travel memories even richer. The wine is produced by the Grape and Fruit Research Institute, which is operated by Furano City. It was established in 1972 with the goal of transitioning from rice-centered agriculture to viticulture on sloped lands. The much-anticipated 'Furano Wine' was finally released in 1978. A winery operated by a local government is rare in Japan, and they have maintained a steadfast commitment to using locally grown grapes. Facility tours are also available. A highly anticipated bottle nurtured by the land of Furano.
