Yoichi Wine
As you tilt your glass, the delicate and umami-rich flavors of grapes nurtured by this cool terrain unfold. With moderate fruitiness and tannins, each sip offers a depth reminiscent of dashi (Japanese soup stock). Thanks to its unique topography surrounded by capes and mountains, Yoichi is a land blessed with low precipitation, ideal for viticulture. In winter, snow exceeding one meter protects the vines from the cold. Following the establishment of Domaine Takahiko in 2009, notable wineries challenging themselves with Pinot Noir and Kerner have gathered one after another, earning global recognition as a sacred site for Hokkaido wine. These are highly distinctive Japanese wines that reflect the terroir of Yoichi.
