Takaragawa
With a single sip, a soft umami flavor born from pure water and Hokkaido rice spreads across the palate. Its clean taste harmonizes beautifully with fresh Otaru sushi. The brewer is Tanaka Sake Brewery, founded in 1899 (Meiji 32). It is the sole remaining brewery in Otaru. All their sake is Junmai-shu, using only 100% Hokkaido-grown sake rice, including rice from Niseko Town. A key feature is their "four-season brewing" method, which utilizes Hokkaido's cool climate to brew sake throughout the entire year. The flagship brand, "Takaragawa," was named after the pure water and rice that are as precious as treasure. This is a local sake with over 120 years of history, having long been a staple at the dining tables of Otaru.
