Kokushi Muso

When poured into a glass, a clean aroma rises, followed by a masculine, sharp dryness that glides down the throat. It is the perfect food-pairing sake, enhancing the flavors of dishes without overpowering them. Brewed by Takasago Shuzo in Asahikawa. Upon its release in 1975, its refreshing dryness gained widespread acclaim, igniting the nationwide boom for light and dry sake. The name originates from the Chinese 'Records of the Grand Historian,' inspired by the anecdote describing the famous Han dynasty general Han Xin as 'Kokushi Muso' (a peerless talent unparalleled under heaven). It is said that the third-generation brewery owner chose this name with the wish to create 'a sake that is second to none in the world.' A one-of-a-kind dry sake nurtured by the pure waters of the Daisetsuzan Mountains.
