Yumeji no Yoimachi-gusa

Shikishimado's famous confection 'Yumeji no Yoimachi-gusa' is inspired by Takehisa Yumeji's masterpiece 'Yoimachi-gusa.' It is an elegant item featuring smooth bean paste made from Hokkaido adzuki beans and soft mochi, sandwiched between Fuayaki crackers made with ginger sugar. It is produced by 'Takehisa Yumeji Honpo Shikishimado' in Oku-cho, Setouchi City, Yumeji's hometown. 'Yoimachi-gusa' is also the title of a poem by Yumeji about a summer romance. This exquisite sweet expresses that worldview—layering the fleeting nature of flowers that bloom in the evening and wither in the morning onto the theme of love—and was even selected as a confection presented to the Emperor in 2005. With a moist, elegant taste that hides a lyrical story, this is a memorable sweet that allows you to enjoy both the culture and flavor of Okayama.
