Ichigo Yumeji

An strawberry-flavored Japanese sweet named after the painter Takehisa Yumeji, who has ties to Okayama. This lovely item blends the world of Taisho Roman with the sweet and sour flavor of strawberries. It is produced by 'Takehisa Yumeji Honpo Shikishimado,' which has its main store in Oku-cho, Setouchi City, the hometown of Yumeji. Since its founding in 1948, they have continued the craft of making Japanese sweets while inheriting Yumehi's spirit. This item is a sister product to 'Yumeji no Yoimachi-gusa'—a famous sweet consisting of bean paste sandwiched between Fuayaki crackers made with ginger sugar—enhanced here with the colorful touch of strawberry. This confection allows you to enjoy both the sweet and sour strawberry flavor and Yumeji's lyrical worldview. It is a wonderful gift that lets you take home both the culture and taste of Okayama.
