Korakuen

An Okayama specialty confection inspired by Korakuen, one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan. This item reflects the seasonal beauty of the garden in its confectionery form, offering an elegant taste suitable as a travel souvenir. Korakuen is a daimyo garden commissioned by Tsuda Nagatada under the orders of Ikeda Tsunamasa, the second lord of the Okayama Domain; construction began in 1687 and took 14 years to complete in 1700. It is counted as one of the 'Three Great Gardens of Japan' alongside Mito's Kairakuen and Kanazawa's Kenrokuen, and is designated as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty by the national government. This is a prestigious sweet named after that famous garden. A treat to be enjoyed while imagining the elegant scenery of the great garden. Please take it home as a souvenir of your visit to Korakuen.
