Hirakawa Sesshu-an Tenchu

A rod-shaped mochi confection called 'Tenchu,' crafted by Hirakawa Sesshu-an, a long-established shop in Soja City. It features a clean sweetness and a moist, soft texture. In Gokei, a canyon in northern Soja City, many giant and unusual rocks tower above; among them, on Mount Tenchu, there is a massive rock engraved with the characters for 'Tenchu.' It was named after this sky-piercing mountain, which the poet Akiko Yosano also wrote about in her poems. The shop, founded in the first year of the Me-iji era, has crafted it with a refined taste unique to its heritage. This is a famous confection rooted in the land of Soja, perfect to enjoy while reflecting on the grand landscapes of the Kibi Road. Please take your time and enjoy its simple yet dignified flavor along with some tea.
