Sato Tamundo Yuzu Yokan
A yuzu-flavored yokan produced by Sato Tamundo, a long-established shop continuing since the Edo period. Founded in Tenpo 1, (1830), Sato Tamundo is a Japanese confectionery shop that was originally a specialty store for Yuzubeshi (a yuzu-based Japanese sweet) associated with the Bitchu Matsuyama Domain. This Yuzu Yokan is a beautiful creation, featuring slices of yuzu placed atop smooth white bean paste yokan. The refreshing aroma of yuzu and an elegant sweetness harmonize gently. It is a Japanese sweet that can be enjoyed visually as well, offering a cool and refreshing appearance. The slight bitterness of the sliced yuzu provides a sharp contrast that tightens the sweetness of the white bean paste. The flavor embodies a dedication to yuzu cultivated through the making of Yuzubeshi. This is a famous confection fragrant with the traditions of Bitchu, best enjoyed with warm tea.
