Chidoriya Soke Kasuteira

Chidoriya Soke is well-known for its Chidori Manju and Marubo-ro. Its history dates back to the Kan'ei era (around 1630), and it is a long-established confectionery shop with stores primarily located in Osaka. One of its signature products is this "Kasuteira." It is characterized by a traditional baking method called "Gosayaki," which uses fresh eggs from contract farmers and high-quality honey, utilizing a slightly smaller amount of egg white and a larger amount of egg yolk. Because of this, the moist sponge features a rich flavor where the essence of the egg spreads beautifully. It offers a fluffy yet intensely sweet taste. It pairs well with both tea and coffee, making it a popular choice for gifts. Alongside Marubo-ro, it is a flagship confection born from the proven craftsmanship of Chidoriya.
