Gyokuro Meijin: Artisan Matcha Chocolate

'Gyokuro Meijin' is produced by Salon de Royal, a chocolate specialty shop based in Osaka founded in 1935. This is a meticulous matcha chocolate supervised by tea master Juichi Yamashita. It features a three-layer structure: a milk chocolate center, enveloped in matcha chocolate, and further coated in matcha powder. It won the Gold Award at the 26th National Confectionery Expo and a Silver Award at the Monde Selection in 2012. Mr. Yamashita is an accomplished professional who has repeatedly won the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award at national tea competitions. Upon entering your mouth, it melts delicately, layering the pleasant bitterness of matcha with the smoothness of milk. It is a sophisticated single piece intended to be savored slowly alongside Japanese tea.
