Gokan Rice Baumkuchen Roll (Wasanbon Sugar)

Founded in 2003, 'Gokan' has its main store in Kitahama, Osaka, a place with deep ties to rice and sugar. It is a unique shop that has pioneered the new genre of rice-based confectionery. This baumkuchen is baked using domestic rice flour. Using Awa Wasanbon sugar made from Chikutou bamboo sugar from Tokushima Prefecture, it is baked slowly and moistly. It features a unique chewy texture characteristic of rice flour and the gentle, elegant sweetness of Wasanbon. With a light mouthfeel, you'll find yourself able to eat as much as you want before you realize it. The layers stacked like tree rings are also beautiful, providing a visual delight. It is a new Western-style confection reminiscent of Japan, the land of rice. Its gentle, non-tiring flavor makes it perfect for gifts for all generations.
