Hon-Chidori

The "Hon-Chidori" features an impressive and adorable shape modeled after a plover. It is a signature confection of Chidoriya Soke, passed down through generations since the company's founding. Chidoriya Soke is a long-established shop said to have been founded in 1630 (the 7th year of the Kan'ei era). It is said that by quickly learning the production methods of Nanban confectionery brought to Nagasaki, they created the prototype for this "Hon-Chidori (Chidori Manju)" by wrapping Japanese white bean paste. It offers an elegant taste, with a moist, fine skin gently enveloping white bean paste that melts in your mouth like snow. This is a traditional masterpiece nurtured by over 390 years of history, long loved in Osaka. Please enjoy it alongside your tea.
