Hana Kikyo An-toast Monaka
A new sensation of a sweet that allows you to experience Nagoya's morning culture through monaka. Produced by Hana Kikyo, a confectioner with roots in 'Kikyo-ya,' which was appointed as the official confectioner for the Owari Clan Lord Tokugawa Yoshinao approximately 400 years ago. This is an homage to Nagoya's famous Ogura Toast, featuring a fragrant, thick-baked monaka shell designed to resemble pan toast, served with sweet bean paste butter. The fun part is the interactive experience of spreading the bean paste yourself using a dedicated knife, just like assembling toast. The crispy monaka shell and the rich flavor of the bean paste and butter create a sense of unity characteristic of Nagoya. It comes with two types—sweet bean paste and sweet bean paste butter—allowing you to enjoy comparing the different flavors. This souvenir is packed with both playfulness and the reliable craftsmanship of a long-established shop.

Hana Kikyo An-Toast Monaka (Sakura)
A cherry blossom version of Hana Kikyo's unique confection that reimagines Nagoya's famous 'an-toast' (red bean toast) in the form of a monaka. The playful design features red bean paste sandwiched between toast-shaped monaka wafers, with a sakura flavor that heralds the arrival of spring. This item is a fusion of Nagoya's cafe culture and traditional Japanese confectionery.
