Nisshodo Kinunishiki

A fusion of Japanese and Western confectionery featuring plump sweet bean paste (tsubuan) sandwiched between fragrant baked crust. Produced by Nisshodo, a long-established shop founded in 1937 and known as a purveyor to Nikko Toshogu Shrine. The dough is baked to a fragrant finish using flour and eggs from Tochigi Prefecture, sandwiching carefully selected sweet bean paste. This high-performance confection has won the Grand Prize at the National Confectionery Expo and is certified as an offering for Nikko Toshogu; it is another flagship product alongside the popular Nikko Rusks. It offers a gentle flavor where Western-style crust meets Japanese-style bean paste. As a reliable product also handled by Mitsukoshi Isetan, it is a piece you can present with confidence as a Nikko souvenir. This elegant confection is suitable both for tea time and as a small gift.
