Arita Ware Curry
When you lift the lid of the beautiful Arita ware vessel, a fragrant aroma wafts out. From beneath the melted cheese, a spice-infused curry reveals itself. As a delightful bonus, you can take the vessel home once you have finished eating. Arita Ware Curry was born in 2007 as the first Ekiben (station bento) at Arita Station. It is a commercialized version of a curry doria that was popular in local cafes, featuring ground beef and 28 different types of spices, baked to perfection in the oven along with the Arita ware vessel. It is a high-performance dish that has even achieved first place in the JR Kyushu Ekiben rankings. The 'collaboration' between cuisine and ceramics—where the vessel remains in your hands after eating—is a specialty unique to Arita.
