Nishiawakura Gibier
In Nishiawakura Village, famous for its '100-Year Forest Vision,' gibier made by utilizing the local deer and wild boar as regional resources is a specialty. It offers a flavor unique to this nature-rich land, where forests cover more than 90% of the village area. The 100-Year Forest Vision, launched in 2008, is an initiative to protect and nurture planted forests for the next generation. Gibier, which ensures that the deer and wild boar living in these forests are used without waste, is truly a blessing from the forest itself. Processed products such as sausages and jerky have been developed, becoming a new attraction for the village. With a robust umami and a wild, rustic taste, this is a nutritious delicacy that can only be enjoyed in a village that lives in harmony with the forest.
