Yuzu from Senryu no Sato
Kume-minami Town is known as the 'Village of Senryu' and is also a production area for highly aromatic yuzu. It boasts the highest production volume in the prefecture, with many farmers working diligently during the winter harvest season. Cultivation of yuzu in Kume-minami began around 1995. The golden fruits that ripen from autumn to winter are characterized by their refreshing aroma and moderate acidity. The town and JA (Japan Agricultural Cooperatives) have launched a 'Yuzu Project' to widely promote it as a local specialty. Processed products number about 25 varieties, ranging from ponzu and miso to honey and sweets. Just a squeeze into your cooking will instantly release the refreshing scent of yuzu. Please enjoy these refreshing fruits, nurtured in the town of Senryu, both fresh and in processed forms.
