Akaiwa Peaches
When it comes to the quintessential taste of summer in Okayama, peaches are the star. Akai-wa City, in particular, is a special production area known as the birthplace of white peaches. In fact, the white peach varieties that serve as the foundation for types like Shimizu Hakuto were discovered in an orchard in the former Kumayama Town in 1901.
