Yuzukichi
Growing in Bitchu-cho, Takahashi City, 'Yuzukichi' is a citrus fruit with a refreshing aroma similar to yuzu. Its small fruits, about the size of a golf ball, are characterized by their mellow acidity and abundant juice, adding a sharp fragrance to your cooking. Originally rooted in the Nagato region of Yamaguchi Prefecture, this variety spread to various areas as a cold-resistant and easy-to-grow citrus fruit. It thrives even in the mountainous climate of Takahashi and is beloved locally as an accent for many dishes. When squeezed into ponzu or dressings, its refreshing acidity enhances the dining table. Please try this highly aromatic mountain citrus with a quick squeeze over grilled fish or hot pots.
