Yoakemae (Before Dawn)
A brew that shares its name with the masterpiece of great literary figure Shimazaki Tosun. This is 'Yoakemae,' brewed by Ono Sake Brewery in Tatsuno Town. Ono Sake Brewery was founded in 1864, on the eve of the Meiji Restoration, making it one of the oldest breweries in the Ina Valley. The brand name is derived from Toson's novel 'Yoakemae'; during the Showa era, the brewery requested permission to use the name from Toson's eldest son. It is said that the name was granted along with the words, 'I want you to pursue authenticity even at the cost of your life,' a spirit that the brewery continues to cherish and protect to this day. Boasting a clean and elegant taste that leverages the freshness of freshly pressed sake, it is a dignified brew worthy of such a masterpiece's name.
