Hokuan Daikoku
Brewed with snowmelt from the Northern Alps, this sake offers a crystal-clear taste. This is 'Hokuan Daikoku,' brewed by Hokuan Brewery, located in a snow-covered brewery in Shinano Omachi. Founded in 1923, this is a historic brewery that celebrated its centenary in 2023. In the land of Omachi, where the Kashima and Takase Rivers flow, they brew sake using pure spring water from the foot of the Northern Alps and locally produced sake rice such as Miyama Nishiki. Even during eras when global trends shifted toward dry sake, this brewery has maintained its unique conviction to preserve a 'rich and sweet' profile that brings out the natural sweetness and umami of the rice. The long winters of this snow country slowly nurture a mellow and gentle flavor. It is a local sake that allows you to slowly savor the blessings of the Northern Alps.
