Oshima Milk

With a single sip, you will experience a refreshing sensation followed by a gentle, lingering richness. Oshima Milk is a treasure of the island, nurtured on Izu Oshima. Dairy farming on Oshima has a long history, becoming prosperous after dairy cows were introduced in the late Meiji era (around the 1890s). In the early Showa era, the number of cattle reached as high as 1,200, making it a production area known as 'Holstein Island.' The warm climate and lush green grasses, such as ashitaba that grow year-round, were ideal for raising cattle. Although the industry almost disappeared due to a factory closure, the company was re-established through the efforts of dedicated individuals and has returned to store shelves. To preserve its flavor, a careful process of pasteurization at lower temperatures is used. A mellow cup nurtured by the island's wind and grass. You can also enjoy that same deliciousness in butter and gelato.
