Ishikawa Sake Brewery (Tamanjiman)

In the heart of Fussa, a series of storehouses registered as Important Tangible Cultural Properties stand quietly. This is where the local Tama sake, 'Tamanjiman,' is brewed. The history of Ishikawa Sake Brewery began in Bunkyu 3 (1863). The brewing water is natural Tokyo spring water pumped from 150 meters underground on the premises. They have continued to carefully craft their sake using the 'Kan-zukuri' method, brewing only from autumn to early spring. The brand name embodies the wish: 'To become the pride of Tama and to satisfy the hearts of many.' A glass enjoyed surrounded by these historic storehouses feels exceptionally profound. Since you can also enjoy brewery tours and dining on the premises, please be sure to stop by when visiting Fussa.
