Sawanoi (Ozawa Shuzo)
In the valley of the Tama River, a white-walled brewery stands quietly. Sawanoi is a local sake of the Tama region, brewed for a long time in the area of Ome/Sawai. Ozawa Shuzo traces its founding to 1702 (Genroku 15), as recorded in ancient documents. For over 300 years, they have continued to brew sake using the pure water nurtured by the mountains of Okutama. Even today, while preserving tradition, they carry on a style of brewing that suits the modern era. The brewing water is sourced from the clear spring water flowing from the brewery's mountains. A glass enjoyed while gazing at the valley is the very essence of the land itself. At Sawanoi Garden, you can also enjoy brewery tours and sake tasting.
