Kameari Menchi Katsu
When you bite into one freshly fried, the juices overflow. Kameari's menchi katsu features a crispy coating and a light, savory interior. Its lightness makes it easy to eat as many as you want. The specialty shop "Kameari Menchi" was established in 2010. After considering what kind of food could be loved by everyone regardless of age, they arrived at the idea of menchi katsu. They grind meat blocks in-store, coat them with specially ordered panko breadcrumbs, and fry them to perfection in vegetable oil. This dedication brought such popularity that they sold out 1,000 pieces on their very first day. A single bite accompanied by a beer during a late afternoon in the old downtown—this flavor pairs perfectly with the atmosphere of Katsushika. If you are walking through Kameari, please be sure to treat yourself to one while it's freshly fried.
