Sweet Corn
Grown in the vast fields of Tokachi, basking in plenty of sunlight, this sweet corn is part of Japan's top corn-producing region; Hokkaido actually accounts for approximately half of the nation's total harvest. The significant temperature difference between day and night prevents the sugars produced during the day from escaping, locking them tightly inside to create an incredible sweetness. It is said that freshly picked, high-quality corn is so sweet you can even bite into it raw. Tasting freshly boiled, hot corn in Hokkaido during summer—when you take a hearty bite of a whole cob, juicy sweetness overflows in your mouth. This is truly a luxurious and happy summer delicacy.
