Shiranuka Cheese & Mutton

A place where masters of both mutton and cheese converge—that is Shiranuka, a town attracting the secret attention of gourmets. Facing the Pacific Ocean, Shiranuka Town is home to the 'Charo Sheep Farm,' one of Japan's leading facilities, which has raised approximately 800 sheep since its establishment in 1987. The lamb from breeds such as Suffolk is renowned for being tender and having minimal odor. Meanwhile, at 'Shiranuka Rakukeisha,' established by local dairy farmers in 2001, authentic cheeses like mozzarella are handcrafted. High-quality mutton paired with artisanal cheese creates a feast in itself. When slow-roasted lamb is served with melting cheese, it becomes a true delicacy. Pair it with Takatan, which was also born in the same town, to fully experience the culinary depth of Shiranuka.
