Biei Corn Bread
There is a type of bread in Hokkaido that draws crowds starting early in the morning: Biei Senka's 'Corn Pan'. Packed with plenty of sweet corn grown in Biei, this luxurious item is baked using only the moisture and sweetness of the corn itself, without any added water or sugar. The dough is also generously made with Biei-grown wheat, fresh cream, and butter. As a limited edition item available only at New Chitose Airport, it is not uncommon for them to sell out every time a new batch is baked throughout the day. With just one bite, the sweetness of the corn bursts and spreads throughout your mouth. It is a rare delicacy that allows you to taste the full bounty of Biei's earth—a true lucky find if you encounter it.
