Lucky Pierrot
This is a local soul food that you must visit at least once when visiting Hakodate. Lucky Pierrot is a local hamburger chain born in Hakodate in 1987. The signature menu item, the Chinese Chicken Burger, was inspired by the homemade fried chicken the founder ate as a child; it is a voluminous dish featuring large pieces of fried chicken coated in a sweet and savory sauce, sandwiched with plenty of lettuce. With shops located only in the Hakodate area, its freshly made taste—prepared only after an order is placed—continues to be loved by locals. One of the fun aspects is that the interior design and menus vary from shop to shop. It is a specialty you will definitely want to taste at least once as a memory of your trip to Hakodate.
