Lady Xiangjun's Moon
A famous confection created by Kiyomasa Seika, named after the 'Shokun-no-ma,' the highest-ranking room in the Kumamoto Castle Honmaru Palace. This item carries a prestigious name that evokes the dignity of the castle. Shokun-no-ma is a formal room depicting the story of Wang Xiangjun, one of the Four Beauties of ancient China. In honor of this name, traditional Kumamoto Chosen-ame (Korean candy) is enveloped in smooth white chocolate. Chosen-ame is a Kumamoto specialty said to have been carried by Kato Kiyomasa as provisions for his military expeditions. A new sensation of flavor where the simple sweetness of the candy melts with the rich richness of the chocolate. It has also received a Silver Medal from the Monde Selection. A quintessential Kumamoto fusion confection where tradition meets modernity.
