Homare no Jintaiko

When you open the paper tin and slice it with the included pick, soft gyuhi (sweet rice cake) reveals itself from within the glossy yokan. The elegant sweetness of the adzuki beans melts smoothly on your tongue. Homare no Jintaiko is the flagship product created in 1958 by the founder of Okashi no Kobo. It consists of adzuki bean paste, cooked with Aso's underground water, set with agar, and wrapped around soft gyuhi. The name 'Jintaiko' refers to the drums beaten to raise morale during battle. It was named to embody the dignified spirit of achieving great deeds and receiving honor. A representative confection of Kumamoto that has been loved for over half a decade. A treat you will want to savor one by one alongside your tea.
