Xavier's Honor
A Nanban-style (Western-influenced) baked sweet created by Okashi no Kōme, inspired by the great voyages of the missionary Xavier. The traces of prayer that live on in Amakusa reside softly within each piece. Delicate dough kneaded with butter contains a milky white bean paste enriched with condensed milk. It is an aromatic treat that layers European essence onto traditional Japanese bean paste craftsmanship. A warm flavor where Western and Japanese flavors meet gently. It is widely enjoyed by everyone from children to the elderly. An elegant milk confectionery that pairs well with both tea and coffee. A treat to be savored while reflecting on the history of Kumamoto.
