Tokibi Mochi

The gentle sweetness of corn slowly melts into a chewy texture. "Tokibi Mochi" is a mochi confection that utilizes Hokkaido-grown tokibi (corn). It is produced by Yata Seika, a long-established confectionery founded in 1923. Using the traditional method of their famous "Japan's Number One Kibidango," they knead Hokkaido corn powder into white bean paste made from large white kidney beans from Tokachi, Hokkaido. It can be enjoyed as is, or lightly toasted to enhance its savory aroma. "Tokibi" is the Hokkaido dialect for corn. This is a well-known specialty among connoisseurs—a mochi born from Hokkaido ingredients and traditional craftsmanship that becomes addictive once you try it.
