Shiroi Koibito

A representative confectionery of Hokkaido, released by Ishiya Seika in 1976. It features a simple yet unique flavor, with white chocolate gently sandwiched between layers of Langue de Chat. Legend has it that the name originated from a casual remark made by the founder while returning from skiing: "White lovers have fallen." It is a truly romantic name, likening the silently falling snow to lovers. After selling 5 million pieces in its first year, it has now become an unshakeable classic, with annual sales exceeding 200 million pieces. For many, this is the very first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Hokkaido souvenirs—a signature treat of the northern land.
