Kitakaro Sorachi-gun Butter Senbei (Cookie)
A butter senbei (rice cracker) bearing the name of the Sorachi region, crafted by Kitakaro in Sunagawa City. It is a piece with a retro atmosphere, written as 'senbei' but read as 'cookie.' Its characteristic feature is that plenty of carefully selected butter is kneaded in, and it is slowly baked without using a single drop of water. The red packaging, which expresses the peaceful, pastoral image of Sorachi, is also eye-taching. The rich aroma of butter whets the appetite even before opening the bag. Its light, crispy texture is more like an actual cookie than a traditional senbei. It is a playful confection typical of Kitakaro, oscillating between Japanese and Western styles. It pairs well with both tea and coffee.
