Samsung Yoitomake

A roll castella filled with haskap jam, known as a famous confection of Tomakomai. It has been loved by the people of Hokkaido since its release in 1953. Inspired by the logs transported to the Oji Paper Factory in Tomakomai, the product name comes from the workers' chant, "Yoitoo, maataa," used when unloading logs. Because it uses oblate (a thin, edible film) on the surface, your hands get sticky when eating it, earning it the nickname "Japan's most difficult snack to eat." Yet, that very difficulty is part of its mysterious charm that makes you want to eat it. The sweet and sour flavor of haskap, a fruit symbolic of Tomakostmai, pairs perfectly with the moist castella. Even its difficulty to eat becomes something to cherish.
